-Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17
-Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
In Paul's letter to Corinth, he emphasizes the fact that we do NOT belong to ourselves and that we ARE the temple of the Holy Spirit. If God's Spirit is in us, then we should be acting as the embodiment of Christ. The temple is HOLY, it is sacred, therefore we too are to be holy. 1 Peter 1:16 says, "For it is written, 'Be holy, because I am holy.'" In order to be Holy we need to be taking captive of every thought, make our minds obedient to Christ, and to be careful of what we put into our bodies. Think about this: Would you act how you do outside of the church inside of the church? Would you cuss inside God's house? Would you tear apart people with your words inside of the church? Would you disregard every rule that is set for your benefit? Would you?? Begin to think about this. There are people who put on a act inside of a church, simply because they are in a church. Are you that person? Well I have news for you, YOU are the church, God is in you. So maybe the question should be related to yourself? If you cannot act the same inside the church building as you do out, are you really honoring YOUR temple? We are to honor our bodies. People should be able to look at us and see God's spirit in us. We are called to a holy life. You were bought at a price, live for the One who saved you. (:
